CEREC by Sirona Dental Systems is so far the world's only system for the fabrication of all ceramic dental restorations in one office visit. With a history of nearly 20 years, this equipment has helped dentists place over 6 million restorations. The modular CEREC 3, consisting of a separate acquisition unit, infrared camera, and milling unit, adapts to a wide variety of practice configurations. These tools combined with state of the art CEREC 3D software allow dentists to create perfect fitting, aesthetically pleasing, ceramic restorations. The lecture will start with some historical remarks about the development of the CEREC system. Step by step case presentations of inlays, onlays, crowns and veneers explaining the combination of dentists skills supported by CEREC technology at the chairside will complete the lecture.
